My development as an artist has been enhanced by attendance at numerous workshops and classes, and especially as a member of “Monday Morning Painters.” This is a plein aire painting group, which meets weekly, rain or shine, to paint in Sonoma and Marin counties.

I particularly enjoy trying to capture the “spark,” sensuality, or sweetness of a scene I’ve encountered. often, when driving, an image will strike me and I can’t wait to get to my studio to express what interested and inspired me. When I can, I take a few reference photos, but seldom does the art even resemble the photo, especially in the color palette!

As a member of numerous North Bay art associations, I frequently show my work at member shows, local art galleries, and other interesting venues.

I have received a number of awards for my work, and have developed a following of collectors of my paintings. They tell me that my art makes them “feel happy,” and that they respond to the color, freshness, exuberance, and sometimes whimsy of the paintings. Since “I like any color as long as it’s purple!,” my affection for purples, maroons and mauves is reflected in my work.
